Customer Reviews [1] Rating: 5 Date: 2010-02-18 Summary: Twins advice from the American Academy of Pediatrics ... Raising Twins has been a very helpful book for our family. It is practical, down-to-earth, and filled with trusted advice from the American Academy of Pediatrics. I found it fun and easy to read, and liked how it tackles twins' different ages and stages in chronological order so you can quickly find what you're looking for. ...more
[2] Rating: 5 Date: 2010-01-28 Summary: Practical, specific advice to happily raise twins ... It can be scary to find out you're pregnant with twins- read this book, and you'll know what to do. Dr. Flais gives encouraging advice on how to handle two babies without losing your mind! I also like that she has kids in addition to her twins, and gives tips about family balance. Many twins are born early so the appendix about preterm birth is especially informative. I'm going to tell the triplet moms in my multiples club about the triplet appendix, too. ...more
[3] Rating: 5 Date: 2010-01-15 Summary: Best of the Twins Books I've Bought ... I'm a mom of 2 1/2-year-old twin boys, and I own five different books about raising twins. Flais' book is the best one by far because it's more honest than the others. She is very adamant that synchronizing your twins' skeds is key -- when one wakes up to eat, you wake the other one up. Period. I totally agree. Feeding them back-to-back will make you insane. Also, it is refreshing to read from a doctor that pacificers are not a good idea. I never used them -- just one more habit to break. She also reminds you that ...more
[4] Rating: 5 Date: 2009-12-13 Summary: Practical and balanced ... As a pediatrician taking care of many families with multiples, I find that Dr. Flais' book is a practical and east-to-read guide which answers many basic care issues that parents face. She strikes a nice balance with her advice, recognizing that not all families function identically, and that there is not only one specific solution to all problems (which is a characteristic of parenting books that should be sought after in general). She also acknowledges that not every individual situation that parents encounter will ...more

Customer Reviews [1] Rating: 5 Date: 2010-03-03 Summary: Overall, great for any parent or child ... When my husband lost his job, I had to cut back expenses fast. One of those ways to do so was homeschooling. My daughter is 4 and getting ready to enter pre-K and just not progressing the way I wanted her to. By homeschooling, I've been able to really pinpoint her strengths and weaknesses, one of her weaknesses being sequencing and memory. By using this book and building it into our curriculum at home, we've made great strides, and it was very cost effective. ...more
[2] Rating: 5 Date: 2009-11-30 Summary: The Best of Brighter Child Series ... A while back I bought the preschool level workbooks from the Brighter Child series for my son, mainly for bad-weather days and traveling. Unfortunately, we put them off longer than intended, and they are all too easy for my four year old. I think the appropriate age is 2-3 yrs, or as soon as your child can hold a crayon. HOWEVER, my son still has fun doing the activities, so easy doesn't necessarily mean bad. Brighter Child® Sequencing and Memory has the biggest variety of activities compared to the other workbooks ...more

Customer Reviews [1] Rating: 4 Date: 2009-12-23 Summary: Great for a 3 year old not in "school" ... My 3 1/2 year old daughter really likes this book, and does well. I am not happy with the directions on each page, and usually "read" her my own version, but otherwise we like it. She is eager to turn the page and find out what comes next, and these lessons are right on target with her learning capacity/stage. The first few pages are "which is bigger, which match" etc, and this has helped us to identify that our daughter needs work with spatial differences. It has also helped to develop her lines to become straighter ...more
[2] Rating: 4 Date: 2008-11-09 Summary: Great workbook ... My son LOVED this workbook and would beg to work on it. It has nice colorful illustrations and a wide variety of activities. I do think that the age range should be lowered to 3-4 on this book. My Three year old did well with this book's content. ...more
Mazes Preschool Activity Zone (ages 4-6)
Customer Reviews [1] Rating: 5 Date: 2009-10-26 Summary: Highly recommend ... I bought this for my 3 year old, just to get him started and familiar with pre school, he took to it right away, using the maze as a road and having one bird meet the other, he really enjoys this workbook a lot. ...more
[2] Rating: 5 Date: 2009-08-25 Summary: Good ... Pretty good challenge for a toddler. Would be more interesting if the pictures used were of interest to this age group - i.e., trucks, trains, flowers, butterflies, princesses, etc. But still, no complaints and I will buy others from the same company. ...more
[3] Rating: 5 Date: 2008-09-17 Summary: School Zone Preschool Mazes ... We've purchased several school zone dot-to-dot and maze books. My 3-yr-old son absolutely loves them. After he has completed the book he'll still go over and over the pictures or mazes until he talks me into a new book. They are just difficult for a beginner that is starting to control his dexterity. Very fun. ...more
