Summary: "life on the farm" will have a long life in my house
... This game is really cute and I dont see it very often in stores. We actually found it here on amazon and decided to buy it. We have had it since christmas and it is still a nightly request. First the bord itself is composed of 5 (foam mat) puzzle pieces, and it is pretty big. this game should definitely be played on the floor so your child can move around the borad easily. The concept is similar to other games, you draw a card from the deck and then move your token piece to the corresponding color on the board. The

Summary: Great game for young kids
... My son received this game for Xmas. It is a SUPER game. In fact it would be a great first game for a child. the game board is a big foam 5 piece "puzzle" that fits together. It has nice big space for the active kids who are always moving around. Easy to move pieces (the spaces are big enough we routinely use little peoples or various toys as game pieces, which the kids love!!! It is an easy game, much like candy land and doesnt take long to play.

Customer Reviews [1] Rating: 4 Date: 2009-12-16 Summary: Good choice for small children/babies ... It was difficult to find farm animals for infants that are not choking hazards. We are giving these to our son for his first Christmas. The quality of the animals is fine. Not stellar, the paint is a little funny in places, and you can see the neck seams on a few of the animals. All of the animals in our set stand up just fine except for the sheep which can stand up but leans a little bit. We like that the animals are scaled--the horse is the biggest and the rooster is the smallest. (Although since the rooster is small, ...more
[2] Rating: 5 Date: 2009-03-24 Summary: Loved by kids, quality not so great ... I got these for my daughter for Christmas (she was 18 mos then). She LOVES these animals, as do almost all other children who come over to our house. She loves the handled box they came in almost as much as the animals. Be forewarned, the quality is a bit lacking. The seams are noticable and on some animals not precisely aligned; and some of the feet are in strage positions making it hard to stand up the animal. But overall, I would recommend these, especially for toddlers. The size can't be beat. And the general representation ...more
[3] Rating: 4 Date: 2009-02-28 Summary: Nice set; could be even better ... The Jumbo Farm Animals is basically a very nice toy. PROS: Nice large size animals Soft, light, feel nice and easy to hold Realistic and also good looking and colorful COULD BE EVEN BETTER: Somewhat expensive Cow and horse a bit small for the others. Size matters! A nanny goat with udders rather than a billy -- goats are valued for milking Family groups would be great - a hen for the rooster (or even instead of), a lamb, piglets IMPROVED DESCRIPTION: would have size of animals instead of size of box! AND I agree - ...more

It's great for educational purposes: Teaches colors, music, numbers, and skills like turning pages of a book, finding...etc. This keeps my little ones attention for at least 10-20 minutes at a time. And when she starts to fade out of the toy, it gives her a little voice nudge to come and play with it some more! The small one page hard book that is in the middle was perfect to introduce her to turning actual book pages and the durability of the product is bar-none. She likes to turn it on it's back ...more
[2] Rating: 5 Date: 2009-03-21 Summary: My babies love it ... My twins love this toy. I gave it to them 3 months ago and they still play with it every day. I agree that the music can be annoying, but that's the case of most toys out there, so it doesn't surprise me. I think the high pitched voices and horrible song is one of the things the babies like so much. ...more
[3] Rating: 5 Date: 2009-02-14 Summary: One of my son's favorite toys!!! ... My son received this when he was just 5 months old. He loved hitting the buttons with his hands and hearing the songs and animal sounds. He would lay on his tummy and hit it with his hands and just laugh and laugh. Now that he is 18 months old, he still loves it. We have the newer model where the bottom section is green like grass and haven't had one problem with fingers getting stuff. (not yet anyway) I have hid it from time to time for around a week then he is all the more excited when I get it back out. I give it ...more

Customer Reviews [1] Rating: 5 Date: 2009-02-06 Summary: My 5 year old son loves this game and so do we. ... This is my son's favorite board game, he plays it over and over! It's simple and fun and doesn't require reading skills. My husband and I both enjoy playing it with him. I would say it's probably my favorite game of his also. Each game takes about 10 minutes, but the more players you have, the longer it will take. I was surprised to see the other reviews that commented on the difficulty of connecting the pieces together. My son goes to occupational therapy for fine motor skill development delays and he fits the pieces ...more

Editorial Reviews ... Product Description | It's chaos on the farm! The cows, horses, sheep, and pigs are all mixed up. Their fronts and backs don't match - and you must fix the mess! Press the barn, listen for an animal sound (moo, oink, baaa, neigh), and take a matching animal part to make a new creature. If the parts of your creature don't match, trade with another player.
