I have heard of these "more than" books from other teachers. One day I went to my local bookstore and browsed through several teacher resources. This book was so impressive I thought about paying bookstore prices! Next school year, I want to make available to my parents weekend activities in a bag(with a copy of the instructions) paper, crayons and a book that relates to the game or activity. Many people are afraid of math, and this book shows teachers (and/or parents)how to turn learning math into simple, repetitive teaching games for the children. You can use the same games for a variety of ages, and they are CHEAP to make (for low budget teachers). I got this book from the library, but now have to buy it. I couldn't believe how ingenious yet simple the games are. It also shows the teacher how to incorporate these games with other subjects or areas of the classroom ...more

You can use household items to make many of the activities. The lessons are hands-on NOT paper handouts that you see so often in public school.
